Lincoln City Oregon Coast Engagement

A sunny summer Lincoln City Oregon Coast engagement

The Oregon Coast is always a go-to for engagement sessions. The dramatic cliffs and sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean draw in couples from all over the world. The rocky Oregon coastline is a favorite for sunny days, the sea stacks providing just the right amount of shade to get classic and flattering backlit images. This was my first time at this Lincoln City location and it was fun to mix it up from more popular beaches like Cannon and Hug Point.

Considering photos at Lincoln City or on the Oregon Caost?

Having a summer engagement on the Oregon Coast can be a magical and unforgettable experience. Here are some tips to help ensure your coastal engagement is everything you’ve dreamed of:

  1. Choose the Right Spot: The Oregon Coast offers a variety of scenic locations, each with its unique charm. Whether you’re drawn to the rugged cliffs of Cape Perpetua, the dramatic Haystack Rock of Cannon Beach, or the quiet beauty of smaller, secluded coves, it’s essential to pick a location that resonates with both of you.

  2. Timing is Key: Summer on the Oregon Coast can bring crowds, especially in popular spots like Cannon Beach or Lincoln City. To avoid the hustle and bustle, consider less popular locations, or getting an early morning start. Researching tide times also helps to plan the perfect location and timing.

  3. Weather Considerations: While summer brings warmer weather, the coast can still experience unpredictable conditions like wind or rain. Be prepared with layers, and consider packing a light jacket or sweater for the cooler evenings. And don’t forget to check the weather conditions!

With its natural beauty, variety of landscapes, and opportunities for adventure, the Oregon Coast is an unforgettable place for an engagement. Plan ahead, stay flexible, and let the breathtaking surroundings make the moment even more special!

Kauai Elopement

A Spring Kauai Elopement

Kauai, often called the “Garden Isle,” is truly one of the most magical places on Earth. The island’s vibrant greenery, dramatic cliffs, and secluded beaches make the perfect setting for intimate celebrations like elopements.

The beauty of Kauai is its variety. One moment, you can be walking along a quiet stretch of beach with the soft sound of the waves in the background; the next, you’re surrounded by verdant rain-forests, towering waterfalls, and misty mountains. For couples looking to elope, Kauai offers both privacy and adventure.

Elopement Magic: Jess and Isaac’s Kauai Beach Wedding

The morning of Jess and Isaac’s wedding dawned with clear skies and a gentle ocean breeze, setting the stage for what promised to be a beautiful day. They exchanged their vows on a quiet stretch of beach, with the sound of gentle waves providing the soundtrack to their ceremony.

Kauai is famous for its sudden rainstorms. Just after their vows, the skies darkened and the rain started to fall. At first, it was a light drizzle. But then, the rain picked up.

The best tip I have for tropical weddings is to always bring a clear umbrella. What could have been a disaster actually turned into one of the most beautiful elements of the day. The rain was backlit by the setting sun, casting a soft, ethereal glow over the scene.

Rain is a common feature in many parts of Kauai, with the right preparation, it only enhances the experience. The mist that drapes over the mountains and the tropical showers that pass through create some stunning photo opportunities.

What started as a simple wedding on the beach turned into an unforgettable evening complete with backlit rain, a stunning rainbow, light beams, and a colorful golden sunset.

Forest park Wedding

Redwoods Hoyt Arboretum Wedding

Wild Flower Wedding Bouquet

Maddie and Alex were married in a fairy tale forest ceremony at the redwood tree deck in Hoyt Arboretum. This Redwoods Hoyt Arboretum Wedding location is just a short drive from Portland, Oregon. The deck is the perfect location for both small weddings and elopements. And there is nothing quite like being married among these old giants. Something about it feels very uniquely PNW.

Keep in mind, parking can be limited at this location. Carpooling is usually the best plan of action.

The bride chose to get ready at a location in the Pearl overlooking the city, while the groom chose a house with a modern cabin feel and a large backyard. There are a plethora of options within ten minutes of forest park and it is easy to find one that fits both your unique style and budget.

The wildflower floral arrangements added a whimsical touch to this wedding and were provided by Vibrant Flowers.

Matt and Britta held their ceremony in the lush dark green forests of the Oregon coastline. I really love the versatility of the Oregon coast. One moment you can be in a mossy old growth forest, and with a five minute walk, you can arrive at a gently sloping dune filled beach nestled between large rocky cliffs. The Oregon coastline is always one of my first suggestions for clients traveling from outside of Oregon who contact me looking for elopements with dramatic backdrops. Nothing beats the unique formations found on Pacific Northwest beaches.

Colorful sunsets can be few and far in between on Oregon beaches, but when they happen, there is nothing quite like them. Everything is bathed in glowing reds, oranges, and purples.
