The Oregon Coast is always a go-to for engagement sessions. The dramatic cliffs and sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean draw in couples from all over the world. The rocky Oregon coastline is a favorite for sunny days, the sea stacks providing just the right amount of shade to get classic and flattering backlit images. This was my first time at this Lincoln City location and it was fun to mix it up from more popular beaches like Cannon and Hug Point.

Timing is Key: Summer on the Oregon Coast can bring crowds, especially in popular spots like Cannon Beach or Lincoln City. To avoid the hustle and bustle, consider less popular locations, or getting an early morning start. Researching tide times also helps to plan the perfect location and timing.
Weather Considerations: While summer brings warmer weather, the coast can still experience unpredictable conditions like wind or rain. Be prepared with layers, and consider packing a light jacket or sweater for the cooler evenings. And don’t forget to check the weather conditions!

With its natural beauty, variety of landscapes, and opportunities for adventure, the Oregon Coast is an unforgettable place for an engagement. Plan ahead, stay flexible, and let the breathtaking surroundings make the moment even more special!

If you’re dreaming of sweeping views of majestic Mt. Hood, vibrant wildflowers, and golden sunlight dancing across lush meadows, then you might want to consider a Mt. Hood Engagement Session.

A Short Hike, Endless Mountain Beauty

For this particular session, we ventured to a few different spot in the Mount Hood area. These locations don’t require a long trek but still rewards you with incredible views.

I love Oregon because so many trails lead you to the perfect vantage point: sweeping views of Mt. Hood, its snow-capped peak standing tall against the bright blue sky.

But the best part of this session? The wildflowers. Oregon is famous for its wildflower blooms, and with some careful planning, we timed the session just right. Patches of vibrant purple lupine, golden yarrow, and soft white daisies added a dreamy touch to the photos.

Tips for Your Own Mountain Engagement Session in Oregon

Dress for comfort: Choose outfits that are not only beautiful but also easy to move in, especially if you’ll be doing a little hiking.
Bring layers: Oregon tends to have rain fall through spring so bring a jacket! And while summers are typically warm, temperatures can drop quickly in the evenings, especially in higher elevations. A cozy sweater or light jacket is a good idea.
Be ready to explore: The best photos often come when you’re relaxed and having fun. Embrace the adventure of the hike, and let the photos capture the joy of the moment.

Hug Point Couple’s Session on the Oregon Coast

One of my favorite places on the Oregon coast to take backlit sunset photos is Hug Point. The golden light always puts on a show between the beautiful rock structures. Hug point is the perfect spot to jump around in the waves.

Golden Hour Magic

One of the highlights of any summer engagement shoot is the light. We timed the session to catch the golden hour—the sweet spot when the sun begins to dip lower in the sky and bathes everything in a warm, soft glow.
